Store an artificial Christmas tree clean and dry, with its sections arranged so branches, fittings and wiring are not forced out of shape. Follow the tree manufacturer’s dismantling and care instructions, then choose a storage position where the packed tree will avoid moisture, heat and crushing.
Inspect the tree before packing
Disconnect power and remove decorations and accessories. Check for damage to branches, hinges, connectors and wiring. Follow the product instructions for cleaning and repairs rather than applying water or a cleaning product to an unknown construction.
Let the tree dry before closing the pack
If cleaning is permitted, allow all affected parts to dry fully. Packing a damp tree can trap moisture regardless of the bag material. Inspect the proposed storage location for leaks or condensation before relying on a cover to protect the contents.
Keep hard parts from damaging the tree or bag
Separate the sections as instructed and keep connectors from being trapped between them. Pack a sharp or heavy stand separately where appropriate. Do not force branches or hinges into a shape that the tree was not designed to fold into.
Check fit before choosing a location
Use the tree-bag measurement guide to compare the dismantled sections with the bag opening and usable space. A bag that closes only under force needs a different loading arrangement or size. The step-by-step loading guide covers how to place and close the sections.
Choose a stable, accessible storage position
Avoid placing the packed tree directly against damp surfaces or where other items will crush it. Check the shelf or support for the complete load and arrange it so you can remove the bag safely. Keep it away from heat sources and follow any storage restrictions supplied with the tree.
Inspect the stored tree before the next season
Check the bag and location periodically for moisture, damage or pests, and address the source of a problem. Before reconnecting a pre-lit tree, follow its instructions for inspecting the electrical components. A storage cover does not guarantee an unchanged condition or a particular service life.
