Choose a Christmas tree storage bag by measuring the dismantled sections and checking the opening, loaded shape and handling method. The assembled tree height alone does not establish the bag size you need.

Record the largest dismantled sections
Follow the tree instructions for separating and folding the branches. Measure the longest section and the widest folded part without crushing branches. Include projecting poles, connectors or fittings. Record whether the stand and accessories will be packed separately.
Distinguish external bag size from usable space
Ask how the quoted bag dimensions are measured and whether they describe the empty external shape. Seams, padding, a tapered end or the closure can reduce usable room. Check the path through the opening as well as the space after the section is inside.
Try the arrangement with the actual sections
Place the longest or widest section first and arrange the remaining parts around it. Keep hard ends from concentrating pressure against one point. Close the bag normally and inspect the zipper path. A fit that depends on forcing the closure is unsuitable even when the nominal dimensions look sufficient.
Choose handles and storage orientation
Decide whether the bag will be carried, pulled or left in one position. Check the loaded sample using the intended action and agree any performance test with the supplier. A wheeled base or reinforced handle needs review as part of the complete assembly rather than as an isolated selling point.
Record a size brief for a custom bag
Send the section measurements, proposed arrangement, opening preference, material, handle positions and retail packaging requirements. Include photographs or a sketch where useful. Do not describe a bag as fitting every tree of a stated height unless that compatibility claim has been checked for the intended range.
