Vacuum Bag Questions
70-micron PA+PE film is the industry standard for home storage bags (S/M/L sizes). It provides sufficient puncture resistance for clothing, bedding, and pillows. 80-micron is recommended for jumbo bags (80×120cm) that hold heavy comforters, and for travel roll bags that go inside suitcases where they may contact zippers and buttons. The cost difference is approximately $0.02-0.04 per bag. For Amazon FBA, we recommend 70μm minimum to avoid puncture-related returns.
Hand-roll bags have a one-way valve that lets you compress the bag by rolling it from the bottom — air exits through the valve and cannot re-enter. No pump needed. Best for travel (small/medium sizes). Electric pump bags have a valve that accepts a pump nozzle — the pump extracts air faster and more completely than rolling. Best for home storage (large/jumbo sizes). Some bags support both methods. The valve design is slightly different for each — hand-roll valves have a wider opening for air to exit during rolling, while pump valves have a nozzle socket.
